We're Finally Here!

We’re Finally Here
We made it!  We got to our hotel in Montreux around 3:30.  Fight was good. About 2.5hrs sleep for me, but it was solid.   Now onto the train…
Our first experience with the Swiss train system was OK.  Keep in mind that we’ve just finished an 8 hr. flight and 6 hr. time change.  So, we were hungry and tired.  Finding the train(s) wasn’t bad.  We get on the train at Zurich bound for Lausanne. As the train is about to start, an announcement is made that there is a mechanical problem and they are working to fix it.  The train leaves 6 minutes behind schedule.  So much for the legendary Swiss efficiency and timing.   :-)  However, the time was made up and we caught our connection in Lausanne with 3 minutes to spare.
We walked from the train station in Montreux to the hotel, about 20 minutes with luggage.  Montreux is part of the Swiss Riviera, and our hotel is right on Lac Leman.  There is a waterfront trail that goes from town to town along the lake.
Nothing special for dinner, as we’re both trying to stay awake as long as we can.  Walked along the waterfront and saw a statue of Freddie Mercury (the Montreuvians really love him; I think he lived here).  Grabbed some ice cream on the way back to the hotel.  Yum! Chocolate and banana for me and chocolate and raspberry/strawberry for Jennifer.  I think it’s time for bed.

Picture of vineyards seen on the way into Lausanne.

First picture of food on the trip.

Two pictures from our hotel room.  More to come on the Lego mini-figure.
