The Cailler factory tour is well thought out, although it has the unfortunate side effect of making the participants feel like cows in a slaughterhouse. You move through each exhibit room at the factory's pace, only being allowed to move forward when the automated doors open - I hoped that a fire alarm would open all doors. We were then allowed to wander and watch a pilot sized assembly line producing their Branche chocolates (sanitarily behind glass). Finally the ultimate destination, the tasting room...where I finally determined that YES you can have too much chocolate. I know someone who would have been bouncing off the walls after that room, as it was I had a sore stomach! To allay all your fears, rest assured we do have chocolate for you. After we had a beautiful train ride back to Montreux and got our flight of cheeses with 6, 8 and 10 month samples.
Yes, we have chocolate for everyone!
The tasting that put us over the edge!
Another smelling tube, this one, at the chocolate factory was Jennifer smelling les noisettes (hazelnuts).
A good end to a day from our balcony. No fondue. We were both full of chocolate, so we had a light dinner instead. Tomorrow, fondue. Cheers!
