International Man of Lego

SPOILER ALERT...this post is educational (and geeky)

Techincally, my Canada Lego dude is now international, as he has been to 2 countries (Canada and Switzerland).  His friend in yellow is a mini-figure dressed in a nuclear hazmat suit with a gun and a scared look on his face.   I received him as a gift from our friends, Jen, Jason and Peter.  He was purchased in San Diego (home of Rick and AJ Simon; Simon and Simon; a great show!).

We were originally going to CERN (see below for what CERN is) when we were in Geneva.  However, when we tried to book a tour, it was booked until the end of September.  My second thought was to get out to the building to take a picture of the yellow Lego mini-figure at the CERN building.  So this would make 3 countries for the yellow guy.  Truly international.  Anyway, we didn't get to CERN, but I got a picture of him.  I can't bring him all the way to Europe and not let him be in a picture.

Yes, I know I'm a geek and that shouldn't be a surprise to most of you.

The Edumacational Part (pronounced) Ed-U-MA-KAY-SHUN-EL
CERN is french for Conseil EuropĂ©en pour la Recherche NuclĂ©aire, or European Council for Nuclear Research.  It's an international research facility that houses the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator.  The LHC accelerates sub-atomic particles at really fast speeds around a 27 km loop that is underground.  The particles smash into each other and researchers monitor the result to help explain the beginning moments of the universe (Big Bang Theory).  For all of you who read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, this is the science facility where the anti matter was created, and then stolen from.

  2. Jennifer, I can't believe the food you are eating ... ostrich. Did you follow each bite with a large gulp of milk :)
Temp. here today is 13, so enjoy the heat.
Melissa, Ish & Dad cleaned out the garage. I'm glad I made supper. Today we are having Ish's birthday dinner. Only a month late. Melissa carried Jabril in his travel holster (??) & he slept through all the anxiety. Somethings never change. I sent you an e-mail with Jabril's picture. Enjoy.
